Welcoming Week – Te Wiki o Manaaki – Palmerston North 2022

This week we will be celebrating Welcoming Week – Te Wiki o Manaaki. Welcoming newcomers and helping them feel included, no matter their background, makes us stronger as a whole community. #PalmyWelcomes #WhereWeBelong

To celebrate we will:

• Share information about the diversity of our community through social media posts.
• Launch our newly redesigned Welcome Packs for newcomers, to let everyone know #PalmyWelcomes.
• We also have a video coming out mid week where some of our community speak about how they feel Palmy is where they belong.
• There are also two key cultural events happening this year in Welcoming Week: Manawatu Multicultural Council’s Celebration of Ethnic Songs and Praises Concert on 17 September at the Speirs Centre, Palmerston North Boys High School and a community-led Moon Festival showcase on 18 September at the SGP Theatre, Massey University Manawatu Campus.
