Virtual Small Business Information Sessions for Immigrants & Refugees

September 13, 2022 - 05:00 pm

The Denver Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs (“DOIRA”) is hosting small business information sessions for immigrant and refugee residents during Welcoming Week. These virtual, hour-long sessions will take place on Tuesday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 14 from 5pm-6pm. Interested individuals can register here: https://bit.ly/3C0Yis3

The sessions will explain SB21-199 and how this legislation impacts Denver’s immigrant and refugee residents, particularly those interested in starting a business or obtaining state and local professional licensing, certification, or registration. Presenters from Denver’s Economic Development & Opportunity office (DEDO) and Department of Excise and Licenses (EXL) will explain how to apply for a business license in Denver, qualifying occupations, costs to applying, and resources available for aspiring and existing small business owners.

DOIRA is actively looking at various ways that we could develop more integration opportunities for our immigrant & refugee residents, including in ways that bolster economic prosperity. This is an opportunity you won’t want to miss!
