Thank You and Farewell 100 Drayton Street!
For the past nine years, through the generosity of countless supporters and partners, the Welcoming Centre has been able to call 100 Drayton Street, Bowden: home. However, the building has now been sold and our existing lease expires at the end of this year. The Welcoming Centre will continue to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming space for refugee families, people seeking asylum, recently arrived migrants, and the local community across greater Adelaide. A significant opportunity has been identified to establish the Welcoming Centre, and associated Welcoming Australia activities, in the Kilburn Community Centre, in partnership with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Before we move to our new home, we are hosting a final party at 100 Drayton Street during Welcoming Week 2022 to celebrate together all we have been able to achieve, grow, launch and share, thanks to our time in Bowden. There are many memories that we will take with us. Memories of lives changed for the better – both the established community and new neighbours. While we will be saying farewell to a building that has been pivotal in the lives of many people, we’re not saying goodbye to what we’ve achieved and the friends we’ve made. Thank you for joining us in the work of creating communities where everyone can belong. Please join us for a final celebration in Bowden! 7.00pm Thursday 15 September 100 Drayton Street Bowden A delicious grazing table filled with savoury and sweet options will be provided by the incredible Miss MYSA team.
