Conversations About Belonging
When do you feel like you belong?
What stops you from feeling like you belong?
What needs to change so you feel like you belong?
In 2020 Inclusive Aotearoa Collective Tāhono (IACT) hosted conversations across Aotearoa New Zealand to understand if people feel like they belong, and what needs to change if they don’t. They have been using this research to inform their mahi over the last two years, connecting community efforts across the motu to create greater social impact.
To celebrate Welcoming Week 2022 – Te Wiki o Manaaki, IACT is collaborating with Hamilton City Council to host a special ‘Conversations about Belonging’ session.
In this session, a safe space will be created to share experiences and stories of belonging and not belonging. These stories will help IACT understand the identities, values and emotions that underpin belonging and inclusion today, and how to better engage communities in creating solutions and amplifying voices and experiences in Kirikiriroa Hamilton.
