Hispanic Heritage Celebration-Welcoming Week 2022 Culmination

Our Hispanic Heritage Celebration is the culmination of our inaugural Welcoming Week activities here in Gunnison, Colorado. We will kick off the event with our Diversity Walk parade/march down Main Street. We are inviting nonprofit organizations and cultural groups and partners to participate in this march with banners, posters, and traditional wear that expresses their culture. The parade will end at IOOF Park in a cultural celebration. In IOOF Park, there will be food vendors from our Hispanic and immigrant community, live music from our local Cora musicians, face painting, and guest speakers that will be giving a message of empowerment to our community. Our Mayor, Diego Plata, will also give a Proclamation to honor Hispanic Heritage month. We are hopeful that this event can bring everyone together in a fun and inclusive atmosphere that celebrates all members of our community!
